NOT BIBLICAL ! I don't question whether Marietta Davis had some kind of dream or maybe even a vision or whether she accurately described its contents, or whether the Princes accurately "translated" Davis' absolutely miserable original wording. But I do have two major problems with THIS book, one with Davis' "revelation" and the other with the Princes' additions. Simply put, a LOT of the vision just DOES NOT line up EITHER with the Bible OR with the NUMEROUS credible reports from people who have ACTUALLY DIED and then came back to life -- people such as Richard Sigmund (My Time in Heaven), Don Piper (90 Minutes in Heaven), Gary L. Wood (A Place Called Heaven), Ian McCormack (Clinically Dead - I've seen Heaven and Hell, author Jenny Sharkey), Colton Burpo (Heaven is Real, author Todd Burpo). (Colton may have been "at death's door" without actually dying; author Todd himself isn't sure.) Nowhere does the Bible or any of the above dead-then-revived authors describe ANY angel as looking female. Angels don't describe themselves with a descriptive name, e.g., "the Angel of Peace". The only heavenly angels actually named in the Bible are Gabri-El ("God is my strength") and Micha-El ("Like God"). (HaSatan in Hebrew means "the Adversary". Although most people think of "Lucifer" as a name, the Hebrew actually means "shining One" or "bright star" (the Latin luciferos means "light bearer") and that term only appears once in the Bible.) (The Hebrew usually translated "the Angel of the LORD" is malakh-Yahweh, which means "Messenger of Jehovah". The Malakh-Yahweh isn't an angel (supernatural created being), it is the WORD of God. Repeatedly in the Old Testament the Malakh-Yahweh takes credit for doing things that other biblical passages say GOD did.) The Angel of Peace told Davis: "... It is a huge expanse of UNIVERSES .... Happy, holy people live in these -- AT DIFFERENT STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT and DIFFERENT DEGREES OF SPIRITUALITY. These people will never die again." (emphasis added) "Remember," she said, "that this region is only the outer boundary of the home of spirits. These are the LOWER LEVELS of the homes of those who have been made holy. When redeemed people die, this is the FIRST PLACE THEY ARE BROUGHT TO. Here their guardian protectors teach them the BASICS of ETERNAL LIFE. They learn about heaven .... They meet old friends here-- those who have preceded them and have ADVANCED SPIRITUALLY to take on higher tasks ...." (emphasis added) Nowhere does the Bible indicate there are MULTIPLE UNIVERSES or that upon death saved people go to one place, then to another and then to yet other places. 'An attending angel spoke quietly to me. "Marietta, this is your Redeemer. He is God. ... HE DIED ALONE, just as it was written centuries before: [he trod] the winepress alone."' (emphasis added, brackets in original) FIRST, none of the dead-then-revived authors had to be told who Jesus was. They knew IMMEDIATELY. Second, Jesus did NOT die alone. There were LOADS of witnesses and two criminals were crucified with him. Davis says that she saw a large cross, saw a "spirit" kiss it, and a "spirit" told her (emphasis added): "The first thing you must learn is that ALL OF HEAVEN REVERES THE CROSS. TENS OF THOUSANDS BOW BEFORE IT. THE REDEEMED ONES LOVE TO LINGER AROUND IT." NONE of the died-then-revived authors mentioned any such thing. Nor is there anything in scripture indicating that such a thing happens. And WHAT CROSS WOULD THAT BE? It certainly wouldn't be the one ON EARTH that he was crucified on! So they would be bowing before and revering just "SOME SYMBOL"? Davis has two children who died as babies say that their guardian angels sometimes bring them to Earth for various reasons. None of the folks who ACTUALLY died say anything about people IN HEAVEN having guardian angels. What would those angels be "guarding" people against? And those are just a few things from the first few chapters! What is PARTICULARLY troubling is that many people reading the book who are not particularly biblically knowledgeable will be misled by the Princes' added endnotes "Support From the Word of God" into thinking that the OVERALL VISION is consistent with the Bible. The bottom line is that a LOT of Davis' vision is unbiblical. And pulling out biblical quotes that deal GENERALLY with the same topic does NOT validate the overall vision. For instance, the Princes quote various New Testament verses about the fact that various people had visions. But that does NOT mean that a PARTICULAR vision is from God and is consistent with scripture. Many of their other "support" quotes have the same problem. So far I've only read 4-1/2 chapters, and these are just SOME of the problems I see with this.
