Let me preface this by saying that I am a full time seamstress and require a good steam iron for my work. I cannot afford to risk ruining an item that belongs to a customer. Also, I have been buying ONLY Rowenta irons for 20 years. I have always had leaking issues, even while just sitting upright, but they’ve always occurred after I had owned the iron for years and often not been too careful about what kind of water I’ve been using. With how much I use my iron, I expect a good amount of wear and tear and don’t mind buying a new one every few years. But I do not expect my iron to leak while sitting upright right out of the box. This iron was filled and tested. Ok. It works...set aside on the towel that my old one sat. The following morning I go to turn it on as I start work, and as I pull out the retractable cord, water pours out with it, and I notice that the reservoir that was full last night is nearly empty, and the towel that it’s sitting on is soaking wet. I’m SUPER irritated that I now have to make a special trip to return this damn thing. I am a single mother of 5 kids and run a business, and we’re in the middle of a pandemic, which is why I order from Amazon and have things delivered directly to my home. I do not have time to deal with this, and I’ll now be looking for a new company from which to buy my irons. 😡
