Save your money and get the cheaper versions fire stick or TV. This is a $140 waste of money that barely had games. As I expected it has no access to Google Play Store like many Amazon devices. The worst part is its incompatibility with Amazon Underground. Games that you already have won't work on fire TV unless repurchase them. You can stare at the owned game in your library like SW:KOTOR on your mobile device, but you must buy it to use it on fire TV. Out of all the apps I have only a few are compatible with Fire TV making this gaming addition a large waste. update: After owning this system for a few months my opinion of it has decreased further. As a "Gaming edition" it leaves much/ a lot/ a ton/ to be desired. The Majority of the App store is incompatible with Fire TV, not much has changed in the few months I have owned it. I still would not recommend this edition to anyone as it has not improved as a gaming machine. Your "1400 High quality games" is a massive joke. Almost all of it are clones of official apps slightly modified or the same app re-skinned. A good example is a developer by the name of Puzzlepups, which takes up 107 apps of that magical 1400, the 107 is actually only a few different apps re-skinned with different backgrounds and put on the store for individual acquirement. The 1400 available games are flooded with this problem making hundreds of them the same damn game. Other "High-Quality" games are quick thrown together apps that would make the Atari system look high definition in comparison. It does Stream video well, Alexa works fine, more apps for subscription based services are being added to it. Many if you already have regular cable you can just load up and log in like HBO go, Starz, Showtime, the typical cable packages people have, the apps can be used for free on your network. This is an area it excels at. Amazon needs to invest more in the Development of this system for it to be viable. Amazon needs to get actual apps compatible with its systems for it to be viable as a gaming machine. Amazon needs to bring Underground into the Fire TV. Amazon should strike a deal with Google to get Android TV or the Google Playstore usable on Fire TV Gaming Edition. The scarcity of games is terrible. If it is unable to afford R&D into making this a actual gaming edition they should either cease advertising it as one. If you do decide to buy the Gaming Edition I would strongly suggest learning Android so you can Root it and sideload Android TV and googles Playstore. But even that is a pain as the moment Google updates its version it might knock out compatibility with FireTV and you have to reprogram it again.
