Used to love using this product. Made my maple hardwood floors look beautiful (a nice satiny sheen) and the light almond scent was wonderful. But then I studied the ingredient list and discovered that it contains a chemical preservative called DMDM Hydantoin, a known formaldehyde releaser. I have two cats and am, therefore, very careful about the products I use, especially on my floors. I wrote to Method and asked them why they chose to use this preservative given their focus on products that are non-toxic. They actually acknowledged that they could be using a safer alternative and said that they were working on reformulating the almond product. But this was several months ago, and I don’t believe they’ve ever done so. So I reluctantly gave this product up and switched to the Lemon Ginger scent, which does not contain DMDM Hydantoin. It works well, but I miss the pleasant almond scent.
