To understand my complaint, I must mention my corporal dimensions. I'm 5'10, 170 lbs, athletic physique. I mostly wear A-shirts for exercising and running (not as undershirts) so ideally they'll fall to the hip. However, these medium Hanes A-shirts are approximately 31 inches long and extend down to mid-thigh on me, and by extension on anyone else who's my height. Let me remind readers that this is a MEDIUM, not a L or XL. Note that I bought a package of medium Hanes A-shirts at Target several months ago that are 25 inches long (compared to 31 inches). To my eye it's the exact same product so I can't explain why one is 25% longer than the other! To illustrate the difference I uploaded a picture of two medium Hanes A-shirts side by side with a tape measure in between; it should be clear which one is which. Lastly, please note that this is not a user error: I read every word of the product description in search of the length to avoid this exact problem, but of course that information is almost never available so it's a total shot in the dark when ordering any clothes on Amazon, and since shopping malls are closed due covid there aren't exactly many other options. A lot of this type of wastage could be avoided if all the relevant dimensions were part of the product descriptions so consumers could make informed decisions, instead of using FedEx as a dressing room.
