I originally liked this Silicone Splatter Screen when I used it the first 3 times, cooking bacon, sausage and frying corn fritters. It held up like a champ and I had no problems washing off the oil splatters. This Silicone Splatter Screen by Greenful Products measures about 11 1/4 inches, so it is recommended to use it on pans about 11 inches or smaller. BPA free, non toxic and FDA approved. The stainless steel handle is foldable. Last night, I made 4 batches of Buttermilk Fried Chicken to celebrate our nephew graduating (they get out this Friday, which is a month earlier than my other nieces and nephews who live in the west coast) and I'm sad to say that this thing did not hold up as advertised. This splatter screen is supposed to be heat resistance up to 500 degrees. The oil was set at 350 degrees. The silicone is a dark grey color, but the areas that are damaged is a yellowish white color. The whiter the area, the more damage it appears to be as there are cracks. I won't reuse this as there are bits flaking and I do not wish to get it on my food. From my experience, I can recommend this for short periods of time and not on high heat when using oil, but I believe it should be fine for sauce splatters. Unfortunately I can not recommend this for frying for a decent amount of time. I rely on reviews to help me when I make my purchases as well, so I hope this helped someone! :)
