I had high hopes and expectations for Ring products but so far I've been extremely let down. I looked at several cameras and I liked the concept of the Ring cameras and what they had to offer for my needs. So I just threw caution to the wind and invested in several to build a multi-camera system (3 Spotlight Cams ( w/2 batteries and Solar Panel ea) plus a Floodlight Cam. In hindsight that alone was a mistake because of not knowing how they were going to work for sure. Didn't get them up right away and that prevented me from being able to return them. Had to change to a new cell carrier and internet service just to have enough speeds for the cameras to work. And I still had to invest in 2 Ring Chime Pros to get a decent signal to them. SO I have invested a fair amount in Ring and am STUCK with Ring for now (1,100 plus dollars__BIG MISTAKE). I wanted one more Ring camera but that's indefinitely put on hold...( looking at Nest cameras right now...maybe they can do better) Maybe it's their turn now...Ring has had theirs and is failing at this point. Competition leads to better products anyway right. The lag and slow response times, inconsistent less than stellar video quality, flat out failures and too many more to list so I'll stop there. It's falling flat before it's really out of the gate. At least for me it is. Now whether some of these issues are related to the app...who knows. And regarding tweaking things, that's fine IF it's a one time thing but if these systems are so sensitive to things or certain hardware etc then this becomes like a house of cards...one thing slips out of place and the whole thing comes down. I don't have time to be part of the R&D team. If that's the case I'd be better off with ADT or Xfinity security monitoring. My speeds are solid, my camera/signal health is good. My cell service is a nationwide top end service so at this point my commitment to Ring is fading fast and that window is closing. With Jeff Bezos and Amazon behind Ring I really expected better than this. I'm a Amazon Prime member and Amazon has never let me down...so this is really frustrating and disappointing At this point these cameras are useless to me as a security/monitoring device. A novelty at best...and that is when they work consistently. I really would like for this to work and I'm sure somewhere in there is a good product line but so far for me I'm not impressed and couldn't recommend Ring Products for what they are marketed to do
