Overall this item is worth the 5 stars. I love it for the price it was comfortable and got the job done for me in my studio apartment. I was even on planning on buying the matching chaise. The reason for the 1 star was after having this futon for several months I had a bug problem and could not find the source of my problem. I bombed my apartment several times and the bugs kept coming back. I am not a bug expert but they looked like bed bugs. As of two days ago I was finally able to find the problem. It was the futon, the inside of the futon and along the seems had seemed have been infested with bed bug eggs and the recent New England heatwave made them hatch and my apartment is infested. If I had gone with my better judgment I would have gotten the warranty, now I can't even get my money back. I have never been more upset and disgusted. I will be keeping my amazon furniture purchases to plastics and metals. I have attached the picture of when I first got the futon and the bugs just before throwing the futon out.
