The LATCH system absolutely does not function. The buckle comes up too high on the unit, and even if it didn't, there is no way to install it without the belt twisting, leaving you unable to tension the belt. This is a terrible unsafe design flaw. Using the seat belt in its place results in upwards tension that leaves the seat able to be moved back and forth with no effort. This seat is terribly unsafe to install in my vehicle (Durango). It's also very thinly padded and uncomfortable. But the safety issue is of much greater concern. EDIT: to clarify, the length of the cinch on the LATCH strap comes up even with the hole on the seat. So pulling it's impossible to put downward tension on it, pulling it into the seat. Therefore the seat stays extremely loose.
