After all the good reviews was looking forward to using this machine. Unboxed it. Washed the bucket and crisper plate, dried them, and plugged them in. Turned it on to burn off the chemical smells. Heater came on. But no fan operation. The fan is in there. It turns by hand. But no power to drive the fan. Tried everything I could. Just could not make the fan work. I still like this Air fryer if it works. Love the features and functionality. But it needs a fan to convect. If it doesn’t convect it is not functional. <UPDATE> chatted with Amazon customer service rep on Christmas day. She called in to Ninja service, which was closed, of course. She informed me she would call the next day to get resolution...and then would call me back. At 10:30 the next day she called back to inform me that Ninja needed to speak directly to me. So she gave me the phone number to call. Ninja sent me an email with FEDEX free return label. And as soon as they get the FEDEX drop off notification, they would send me a replacement. Can’t ask for any better service from Amazon, or from Shark Ninja. Now awaiting arrival of replacement Ninja AF161. Will up date this review when I try the new one. Hopefully it will work as advertised. <latest update>. Received the replacement from Shark/Ninja. Came as quickly as possible. This one works GREAT. Fan works...and holds temperature very accurately. Cooks very well. Is quick. And clean up is a breeze. Wife has cooked, french fries, wings, drumsticks, bacon, reheated several meats. All comes out perfectly cooked inside and crispy outside. It’s important to check in cycle, as times can vary from the book. This air fryer is perfect in every way. I think the best in its class. And Shark/Ninja customer service And after sale service is top notch.
