Marco & Anne have been invited to their next door neighbour’s house for a dinner party. Their baby sitter cancels at the last minute so they decide to leave their baby girl at home and check in on her every half hour. By the end of the evening their baby girl is missing. I cannot find the words to describe how badly written and poorly thought out this book is. Every single one of the characters speak in the exact same voice. It would be impossible to tell who was speaking without their names or genders mentioned in the sentences. The writing is mind-numbingly simplistic. Lapena has no distinctive style. The characters are thinly drawn and caricatural. The plot is so unrealistic it is laughable. DO NOT BELIEVE THE HYPE!
