I really can't understand all of the positive reviews. I am immensely disappointed in this video monitor. Let me start by saying the video quality, audio quality, wireless range, and battery life are all outstanding. It is the design of the device that ruins it. 1) The user manual menu functions do not reflect what is actually in the device menu. The manual shows a picture of the LED ring for sound sensitivity in PEEP mode, but the device uses a battery symbol with sound waves instead. 2) Although the camera is within 3-4 feet of my child, it is nearly impossible to trigger PEEP mode. He has to be positively screaming for it to waken the monitor. This is regardless of what the sound sensitivity is set to, assuming the battery with sound waves is in fact the sensitivity setting. 3) The LED ring is bright enough to fully illuminate the far wall of our bedroom at night, a distance of 14 feet. It is so bright as to make it impossible to sleep while it blinks, even with the monitor facing away from us. I even tried putting electrical tape over the ring, but the edges of the device "leak" light, and it is still bright enough to keep us awake. I truly can't adequately describe how bright the LED ring really is. 4) Similar to #2, the only color the LED ring shows is blue, regardless of the noise level. The color change function is completely non-functional. No matter how loud the sound in the room is, the LED ring does not change color. It is disappointing that with such an excellent foundation, this monitor is very nearly useless for its primary purpose.
