This is a nice step ladder for everyday use. Very utilitarian but if you go up to the top step to change a light bulb, you will experience a sudden collapse in height that is startling. Enough to make you fall off the ladder if you aren’t prepared for it. The design flaw is not including the standard folding crossbar between the A-frame legs to prevent further expansion when weight is applied. Instead, the frame shape is maintained by the friction between the leg pads and the ground. So you’ll want to use this on carpet rather than a slippery hardwood floor. Otherwise, applying enough weight will cause the ladder to completely pancake when the tiny plastic joint at the apex breaks.
