★★☆☆☆
too complicated
Scoring this at 2 because it is just too intense for most homeowners and DIY enthusiasts. A perfect example is a section on replacing a water valve. The reader, it is assumed, knows little to nothing about plumbing and what to do when a shut off valve leaks or no longer works properly. However, when it comes to installing the valve, the reader is told to "solder the valve in place". So, you don't know plumbing, but you do know how to solder properly? Great intentions from the authors, but the book gets far too deep for most, and those who understand the complications don't need the book.
