Worked very well until the adjustable jaw snapped off after owning for about 2 years. Once it broke I could see it was simply hallowed cast iron. Not sure about Irwin's warranty. Seems fine for general purpose, medium to light duty use but definitely not meant to apply a lot of pressure on the jaws. Update: 10/3/2017 I sent a picture of the broken jaw to Irwin customer service. Without hesitation they shipped a new vise as a replacement. I was very pleased with the resolution and their customer service was excellent.
