Buyers Beware of the Different Models
As a first time mother, I did a bunch of research reading the different brand names and reviews, watching the videos, and comparing the products. I finally narrowed it down to the Graco FastAction Fold Click Connect Travel System. I was fortunate enough to work in a fairly large department and my colleagues wanted to buy this as a gift for my baby shower, which I am very thankful for. So, I sent them the link on Amazon.
I wanted a gender neutral color so the theme color for my baby shower is green and yellow. I told my colleague that I've picked the product and they can pick the color from the four options that are available. When I received the product at the baby shower, I didn't even pay attention to the model printed on the box. All I remembered was it was a big heavy box that needed a push trolley to haul to my car.
One week after the baby shower, my husband and I decided to install the carseat. It was then that l noticed the product model was not CLICK CONNECT that I've picked but CLASSIC CONNECT. Upon checking on Amazon, I noticed that the models were listed together under the Click Connect page. Both models were intermingled to confuse buyers. The product information were not comparable -- some listed the weight on the stroller only, some combination of both the stroller and carseat, etc. making it difficult for buyers to make comparison. Though the models were different, both share the same reviews which drives the sales.
I picked out the difference when reading the installation manual. Most importantly, Click Connect carseat can support infant and baby up to 30 lbs in a rear facing position while the Classic Connect only supports up to 22 lbs. There are other difference but I'm not listing all of them here.
Listing different product models under the COLOR selection category is misleading to buyers. I hope I am the only one who fell victim by this misinformation. Disclaimer, when I did my comparison in October/Nov, all the prices listed are the same. I would have pay attention to the models if the pricing was different at that time. Still, listing two product models on the same page is misleading.
