Be warned! The coffee maker itself is great, but the carafe is made from eggshell thin glass which breaks easily (see photo). Additionally, the carafe is oddly shaped which means that the carafes made by other companies will not likely fit in place of the one that is supplied with the coffee maker. When I offered to buy a carafe outright from Calphalon, I was told that Calphalon did not have any! Buy and use this at your own risk, but beware of breaking that fragile carafe.
