Great Idea; Not sure about construction - > UPDATE: early models have issues
I began making yogurt from scratch a few months ago, and have been using a cloth to drain off some of the excess whey. (I place the cloth into a metal mesh strainer, and place the cloth-lined strainer over a glass bowl). I wanted to find something that was easier to wash than the cloth, big enough to hold 2qts, and not as expensive as the Matfer 17360 Exoglass Bouillon Strainer. This item came out recently and seems to fit the bill. I just drained my first batch and it worked great. It does, however, seem incredibly delicate and fragile. I will be back to update my review after a few more batches, to report on how well the mesh holds up. UPDATE: used less than 6 times, with the utmost of care. Mesh is tearing away from plastic, a lot of yummy yogurt drains out with the whey. Called EuroCuisine and they were very helpful, and concerned about the item and will send out a replacement.
