While this seems like the exact same scratching post as the SmartCat one, it is not. I normally buy the SmartCat Ultimate Scratching Post but I saw this pop up as a simliar product and was cheaper so I figured I would try to save some money and ordered it. The biggest flaw is that the screws in the bottom to secure the base to the post are NOT recessed and so it creates an unstable and wobbly post. The screws also scratched my floor. Other than that, it looks to be of similar quality to the SmartCat version, but it is this sole reason that I am returning it and buying the SmartCat one. Save yourself the trouble of having to send this back to Amazon and buy the SmartCat Ultimate Scratching Post first.
