I looked like a member of the blue man group
Let me start off by saying that I am African American Woman that is NC 50 in mac. I have oily acne prone skin which has the audacity to be sensitive. I was looking for a physical sunscreen to wear before I begin to incorporate aha/bha into my new skin routine. I wanted sunscreen that had healthy ingredients, would not cause acne, and would not make me look like I put white powder on my face. I thought my journey was over when I finally landed on Blue lizard for sensitive skin. I chose this because the ingredients were great( check), they had a sensitive formula so the chances of irritation were low( check) plus I read reviews on here that stated that though there is a cast you won't look like casper( check check check!!!). I really thought I hit the jackpot on this until I put this on my face. The first day i used a pea size amount on my face because the consistency was thick and I was terrified it would make my face look ghostly. I didn't burn so it does a great job in protection. However, this sunscreen even with the pea size amount, made me look like casper. My face broke out into small pus filled pimples all across my jawline. I thought it was my new regimen that was causing this and so I didn't attribute it to this. The next day I used Blue lizard again and used the appropriate amount and this time I looked like I could be a member of the blue man group. After washing this off I saw large cystic acne all across my jawline, my chin and on the center of my cupids bow. I just had a gut feeling it had to be this breaking me out,so I stopped using it for 4 days and my skin went back to normal. To make sure this was breaking me out I go on cosdna.com and put the ingredients to all the products that are in my new regimen and every single one had either 1 or 0 for acne/irritant column. However, one of the ingredients (Ethylhexyl Palmitate) in blue lizard had 4 in the acne column meaning this ish was comedogenic. Overall, this may work for those with normal to dry skin, but if you are oily, sensitive, acne prone or have dark skin this will not work for you.
