Ugh! New year, same mischief...this really isn't that hard Intuit!! What folks need to know is that Investments (Sch D) etc ARE handled just fine in Deluxe version. For some greedy marketing reason that is beyond comprehension, Intuit guides / lures potential buyers with investment sales in their tax returns to the Premier version for an unnecessary up charge. Shouldn't it be INTUITive??? A MUCH more fair and transparent approach would be to say Deluxe can do Sch D. and Premier will as well with a bit more guidance and access to CPAs via phone (if you need that). The conscious sleight of hand going on here is ridiculously deceptive. Even Intuits own product selection helper shows no Investments handling in Deluxe version (ie the green dot is missing from the box), but when you dig into the details you'll learn it works just fine... The bonus you get is constant recommendations to upgrade to premier which you don't need. Just call a spade a spade and get back to the company's original integrity! Next year it's time to give H&R Block a try... :(
