Unsafe. Cheap. Poorly made garbage.
I was a Physical Therapist for almost 14 years before illness forced me to quit. I have a lot of experience with TENS and E-Stim and the associated electrodes. To be frank, these electrodes are garbage. The gel backing is far too pliable. The backing pulls away from the electrode very easily; I've never seen that before. The gel backing has a liquid component. This can lead to any electrode drying out if they aren't sealed back up properly. With this brand, it seems like there's too much liquid in the gel backing mix. It pulls away from the electrode (as I said) and it also pulls apart from itself. Also, these electrodes are the worst I've ever seen in terms of sticking to the skin. If you buy these and plan to wear a TENS while walking around, think again. In roughly 20 minutes I had to reattach two of the electrodes multiple times. Also, it could be from the gel or it could be the lead but the current actually arced. This is a sharp, painful sensation to experience. I've had my TENS for a while. Between length of ownership of the TENS and my professional background, I know what I am doing in terms of use, application and settings. These electrodes should not be sold at all. If I lacked any sensation, the current arc could easily have burned me. Do not buy these electrodes!!! I would have returned them but then I'd have nothing to use. With my experience, I feel safe enough using them while laying flat on my back so that pressure from the bed helps maintain electrode contact. I'll be ordering replacements from a different company. Also, if you plan on reusing these, think again. For the record, I cleaned the application sites prior to applying the electrodes. I used the same board-approved method PT's are taught in school.
EDIT: I am seeing reviews posted after I posted my initial review. There are some reviews that have photos of body parts with small circular burns. Please note that this is what I was referencing when I wrote about the current arcing. This is dangerous. When the current arcs, there is a visible spark between the wire of the electrode and your skin. This causes the small burn you see in those photos. If a person had reduced sensation for any reason, this could lead to horrible complications. I posted about this in 2019 and there are reviews dated 2021 that still show evidence of this issue. I have no idea how this product is an Amazon Choice. It should not be sold. DO NOT BUY THESE!!
