This Bench Will Flex Your Back Like a Bow
This adjustable bench is an uncomfortable mess. It could be a victim of poor quality control or maybe it's just a bad design in general. The bench, when in the "flat position," isn't flat. It's concave. Imagine laying on a "V" - it forces you in to a very unnatural and uncomfortable position. The base of the bench (the part of the bench that sits on the ground, under the butt cushion) is directly in the way of where my feet should go. My wife is 5' 1'', I'm 6' 2''. We both had the same problem with the discomfort from the bench not being flat. Furthermore, my wife's feet barely touched the floor. I'm not holding this against the bench, I'm just pointing it out so people know that this bench isn't good for short people. It even felt kind of high to me. Another design quirk is the huge 4" gap between the seat back and the seat bottom. When in the flat position, it's very unnerving to have that big of a gap there. The seat bottom is very finicky to adjust from flat to angled - you really have to use both hands in order to make the adjustment but there's only a knob on one side. The seat back cushion has a stitching defect. The assembly instructions were acceptable, but it was difficult to get all of the screws in to the seat cushions. If you take a risk on this bench, just know that you're not crazy when you try to screw the cushions in and it's nearly impossible due to slight misalignment between the bench's frame and the cushions. Due to the myriad of problems I have encountered, I highly recommend that you try before you buy.
