I purchased this as a replacement for the technicolor modem I received from Spectrum. I work from home often and felt like an upgrade was in order. Within a couple hours of getting the Surfboard set up and connected to the WAN, the first reboot occurred. Then, reboot after reboot after reboot.. sometimes 3-5 times every 24 hours. I initially thought it was Spectrum’s DHCP lease renewal or firmware related. Nope. After a bit of troubleshooting, I realized that my particular model arris surfboard (SBG7600AC2) came with an Intel Puma chipset. They are notoriously faulty and plagued with a wide variety of issues. All that being said, the modem was pretty smoking fast when it wasn’t rebooting. I have since reverted back to my old technicolor. Hopefully, someone will reach out to me about replacing this SBG7600AC2 with another model, sans the Puma chip.
