Worse than a toy with plastic lenses - hundreds of bubbles in sealed optics. Excessive fees and hoops make warranty worthless.
The optics inside the (sealed) unit are filled with hundreds of bubbles (see photo), and the manufacturer ( Barska ) warranty process is an ordeal with so many hoops to jump through and excessive shipping fees that trying to get it fixed or replaced is a bigger loss than just burning your money instead of buying this scope. So this piece of junk is a lost cause. (Amazon has an excellent returns service, however I did not get a chance to use the scope until after their 30-days-from-purchase window had closed). A $5 toy with plastic lenses doesn't have bubbles all through it.
In the picture, on the left you can see some of the bubbles as you look into the optics. On the right you can see that the bubbles obscure and distort the view, putting white and black smears all over it.
