just got the Meater + read all the reviews Arrived quickly Used it on a brisket in a smokey mountain smoker App loaded quickly and set for Brisket Smoking Connected quickly to to the Meater put the meat in the smoker and then it all fell apart the base charging unit does not go 10 feet I had to have it within 1 foot of the smoker to get any kind of reading Connected to the application and gave me an accurate reading on external temp and meat temp verified with the smoker temp gauge walked 10 feet away lost signal and I got the 165 foot model! Will not give an accurate reading for how long it takes to cook told me 2 hours for a brisket! then kept adjusting and could not give me any indication of time I let the smoker work overnight and left my phone with the app no further then 10 feet away as I could not move it. woke up in the AM the application lost all connect and stopped the cook! I love the concept but the execution of the entire system is not ready for prime time Don't waste your money until they come out a new model that can do what it claims. I will be returning this expensive paper weight.
