It is with great disappointment that I have to leave this review. I cannot begin to describe my dissatisfaction and frustration with this company without using profanity but I will try. And let's be clear - as I write this review and hover my cursor over the one-star rating the pop-up says "I hate it." Unfortunately, most other customers are too willing to give a 4-star review to a product that requires modification to a brand new part. I have purchased both the Dust Deputy 6”and the smaller shop vacuum version and both parts had the same shortcomings but the following comments are particularly poignant considering this piece of plastic costs $180. Firstly, they leak at the seams and have to be sealed with silicone. Albeit easy to overcome this is unacceptable at their heavy "Made in America" price points. Two words for you Oneida - Ultrasonic Welding. Secondly, and most importantly, the functionality of these cyclones is totally undermined by the inability to assemble them into the systems for which they were designed. This is marketed to the home and semi-professional woodworker yet does not fit the ducting components that those customers utilize to connect to woodworking tools. Oneida, please don't hide behind technicalities, website disclaimers, and overall defensiveness. Do a web search and you will see nearly all installations have this cyclone installed in the same setup - metal wire flex tubing connected to the point of use. Listen to the voice of the customer - MAKE IT FIT SPIRAL FLEX WITHOUT MESSING AROUND WITH UNNECESSARY ADAPTER FITTINGS. Your customers will appreciate it and be glad they spent their Made-In-America money in America. More importantly it will reaffirm that "Made-in-America" means that which it is supposed mean - Quality to justify the increased price. I was only able to get this cyclone to work by liberal use of a high powered heat gun. At least with the cheap overseas knockoffs you know what you are getting...
