Before you buy this based on its current 5-star rating...
Full-disclosure - I haven't bought this product. My son has a fever tonight, which is likely the precursor to an ear infection, and we haven't in 3 years had a good thermometer in this house to confirm our fever suspicions. And there's no reason for that other than forgetfulness and possibly laziness. Got on Amazon, looked up "thermometer" and sorted by rating and prime shipping status. This thermometer came up as the first 5-star-rated item. Perfect - I'll buy it! I slowed my enthusiasm when I noticed that there were only 9 reviews (which is not a huge red flag), and then I noticed that all of the reviews were extremely positive, which you can read. That, too, is fine. But the fact that all nine reviews were within 8 days of each other, that was strange. For whatever reason, I started clicking on the reviewers' other reviews and oddly, all nine of them have reviewed many of the same items, which is a HUGE red flag. Almost every single person has reviewed a USB drive animal, herbal supplements, a garden hose nozzle, and a neck pillow. Kind of a weird combination to be a coincidence. Feel free to come to your own conclusion (and feel free to check it out yourself!!) but I'm going to peruse some other, non-potential-paid-reviewer-scam thermometers...FYI, I have posted this for Amazon's own review via the "Report Abuse" links...
