So, we make our own sourdough bread every week. I was hoping to have a bread box that would allow me to store unbagged bread in there. Unfortunately, after 5 days, the bread was moldy. I think the problem was not enough air was getting in and it was too humid in the box. The loaves put in it were completely cooled -they we're left out overnight before stored in the box, so I know that wasn't the problem. Also, the lid actually warped somehow because of the lack of airflow I'm guessing. I'm going to try cracking the lid a little more and seeing if that will help because I really don't want to mess with bags and I prefer a decorative box to conceal the bread. It looks nice and fits 4 of our 9x4.5 loaves, not that we ever have that many at a time in there... Anyway, I will update after I try cracking the top a little. The top is bamboo, not laminate like someone reviewed.🤣
