This is safety product used to allow a patient to contact a caregiver remotely. The call buttons are battery operated. However, I have been unable to find out how a caregiver would know the batteries in the call buttons need to be replaced other than it stops working. This would be like a smoke alarm that doesn't indicate the batteries need to be replaced and you find out when the house is on fire and the alarm doesn't go off! Even spot checking every so often is not a solution. Without a way to know the batteries are running low, it could be working fine one week and not the next. That's not safe. The patient could be signaling there is a problem and the caregiver would not know.
