I don't know how this has such solid stars on here. The amount of pieces for the price is nice, but the issue is that the magnets in this set are WAY weaker than others I have seen. We got these cause the kids absolutely love playing with them at their grandmas house, and we have 2 other friends who have them, and that's what the kids go for. I was very disappointed when they started playing with these because they do not work even close to as well as the others we have used. Basically with the others they seem to use the stronger metal type magnets while these use the black refrigerator type magnet material. when you put a piece vertically say on the base piece sitting on the floor it will not stay up on its own unless you create a 45 degree corner with another piece. This was not an issue with the other sets. Also if you connect pieces end to end and hold them up, one square will not support/hold the weight of any more than 1 square below it, where the set my mother has (I literally went over to try it after we used ours the first time) will hold up to 4 below it before the magnet isn't strong enough to hold anymore. that is a lot weaker! Another test we did it at their grandmas in the past they have made a tower, where it has a base of one of the big base pieces, and been able to stack just walls up with the single square and window type pieces, and have gotten a tower as tall as about 3 feet. We haven't been able to stack a tower even close to 2 feet high before it buckles under the weight. I really don't know what ones you can buy that are stronger magnets, but I would avoid this set if I were you, it is not as good at all. Anyway, I was very surprised cause these guys specifically advert like they are the highest quality of the magnet blocks, but they for sure are not. Honeslty the kids are just 3, so they still have a good time playing with them, so to them its probably 6's, but if you care, they are not as good a quality
