Review Update, BEWARE, these bulbs consume 32 watts of energy, NOT 10, as advertised!
As I initially reported, yes, they work, but after a bit of use, an update is necessary along with a rating reduction from a 5 down to 1.
A couple of days ago I happened to touch the base of one of these bulbs and noticed it was hot, very hot! Yes, the globe portion remained cool, however, my suspicion was that in no way could these draw only 10 watts of power. So tonight I tested that very same bulb which has been in use for a few months against a new one from the same box of bulbs. The load meter employed is designed to register both watts and amps, it's a reliable instrument.
Both Maxxima LED bulbs registered 32 watts on the meter, the new and the used specimen. Just to be absolutely sure of my test, I inserted a 40 watt incandescent bulb for testing. That bulb registered 39 watts on the meter, close enough to ensure an accurate comparison and verify that my instrument is not malfunctioning.
At the very least we have false advertising here. These bulbs draw over three times the advertised wattage. In fact, they consume slightly over 1/2 the energy of an incandescent fixture of the same rating. These are not worth installing, in my opinion.
