After doing a lot of research on which water filter system was the best, I decided to invest in the Propur Big. After following the initial cleaning instructions, the first batch of water tasted great. However, after that, the water had a very strange, bitter mineral taste and smell. This was extremely disappointing considering the price of the system. I also e-mailed the company with my concerns asking for advice/help as to why it would be making water with such a strange taste, but they never e-mailed back. Again, for the price, you would expect decent customer service, but I received no explanation or assistance. After some testing, I have figured out that the filters are not responsible for the strange taste, but something about the water sitting in the lower compartment. I've had to rig it so that the top part with the filters sits on top of another pitcher to catch the water. While this has saved the taste of the water, it's a pain, and something you should not have to do with a "quality" product. I would not recommend anyone to purchase this.
