Strike one upon opening the jar is there were a ton of sizable woody stems, something which I know many cat owners simply won't abide due to fear of injury while eating. I figured if they loved the stuff, I'd be willing to pick them out if need be. Strike two, neither cat responded with any excitement whatsoever at the smell of it. This coming from cats who lose their proverbial minds with even the cheap free stuff that comes with scratching pads! One didn't even bother with it at all, the other gave a few licks then walked away unaffected. Strike three, having to sweep up catnip myself for the first time ever since these two catnip freaks have never left a pile behind before me to have to deal with! Silver lining? I won't have to pick out those stems after all.
