I am the designated family historian and I was tying to digitize slides so I gave this one a try. My purchase was based on reviews I read on this site. It was easy to set up, BUT the output quality was much lower than I expected for the price when i transferred the photos to my computer. I tried to fiddle with the colors on the device but the screen on the Magnasonic is really small and made it hard to see because it is so "pixelated" - the colors on the default mode were super saturated and grainy that I found AFTER I put them on my computer. Overall I was NOT satisfied with this product. Then I decided to try a different product and I purchased the KODA.K SCANZ.A -which i am VERY happy with. The output for Magnasonic is about 2 MB of data. The LEFT picture attached to this review is from the Magnasonic (very grainy and saturated, blacks are overwhelming), and the photo on the right is from the other purchase (with some lowered contrast and blue tweaking). Hope this review helps others with their time and money!!!
