I've used this scale every day for the last 3.5 months. For the first month or so, I compared the weight every day to my previous digital scale, and it was always within 0.2lb, so I'm happy with the precision of the weight aspect of the scale. However, the body fat % seems to be almost a complete fabrication. I'd expect some variance due to the fact it's using BIA, but the body fat % measurements don't vary. The just coincide almost exactly with the weight measurements. So the large changes in body fat % measurements can't be explained by the fact the scale uses BIA (if my understanding of BIA is correct). To give some concrete examples, my weight regularly fluctuates by about 3lb depending on the time of day, how hydrated I am, etc. Obviously my body fat % is not varying in the same way. I would expect it to remain relatively consistent regardless of whether I just went to the bathroom for example. However, it ALWAYS changes to directly coincide with my weight. If my weight goes up 3lb (1.7% of my weight), my body fat % goes up 0.8%. If it drops back down 1.5lb (0.8% of my weight), low and behold my body fat % drops 0.4% again. I've even done experiments where I weigh myself before and after urinating and I see the exact same trend with weight and body fat %. 1lb of weight loss always corresponds to exactly 0.3lb of fat loss - even when that loss was 100% urine. At this point I'm pretty much convinced that the scale is just changing body fat % based on a pre-defined table with respect to weight. UPDATE: I got a new phone, so I can no longer use the body fat features of the scale. In order to do so, FITINDEX requires that I accept their new privacy policy, which allows them to share my health data with their "affiliates", AKA sell my data to advertisers. I'll be buying a new scale.
