Sub-par Chinese rubbish is what you can expect from Cross today. I bought this and compared it to my original from the late 1980s, and there is no comparison. This made in Communist China model (way to diss your American workers and quality, you rat sob's at Cross) was rough to turn, had apparently thinner, lower quality chrome, was lighter, and was overall very, very CHEAP feeling. I would NEVER give this as a gift - at least to someone I like. Stay away. A nice gift would be to get a Made in USA Fisher Space Pen. It's more costly than this lousy Cross, sure, but it will at least be a high quality gift. If I could have given this rotten thing minus stars, I would have. It's rubbish, and Cross does not care one bit.
