Deceptive advertising, very limited functionality
First of all, this unit requires Microsoft Windows for *any* of its connectivity features to operate. Not a "personal computer" as advertised -- OSX doesn't work, linux doesn't work.
Second of all, the unit has no actual network connection, wired or otherwise. What is has is a USB connection, which only works with Windows, and only works when the Windows OS is up and booted, and while Windows maintains the connection to Weather Underground.
Third, the iPad/iPhone app does not work -- there's no bluetooth in the unit, and there's no wifi in the unit -- unless Windows is up and booted and you have an internet connection to Weather Underground available.
Fourth, this is not a color display as advertised. This is a black and white display with a colored transparent film over it, upon which black and white values and gauge indicators are drawn. Take a close look at the product image here, you can see this clearly if you look for it.
Fifth: The unit provides an absolutely glacial update rate: 18 seconds between readings.
Sixth: The "ticker" at the bottom is blurry and difficult to read. The LCD isn't fast enough for the ticker scroll rate.
On the plus side, it monitors an adequate number of weather parameters stand-alone, and if you don't need any of the connectivity features (or you are using Windows as an OS), and you didn't actually want a color desktop display... well, then, perhaps this is just the thing for you.
