I ditched my much more expensive Ankor for this & was VERY happy with the clear sound quality (The bass on the Ankor was overwhelming & made the sound muddy ) . It charged up quickly & paired with my ipod gen 7 effortlessly (didn't even read the pairing instructions). But it shouted "Powering On" & even though the volume was on low, it was also startlingly loud when I turned it off "Power OFF"! Not something you want after playing soft music or trying to be quiet. This is a deal breaker for me. Very disappointed A reviewer said that you can disable voice prompt with your phone, but gave no other details. I do not use or intend to use this with my phone, so not sure if that is applicable. I tried the: hold the - &+ buttons down at the same time (which works with some other speakers) but it has no effect here. I ended up buying an INSMY & it is a better fit for me UPDATE: 2 months later the seller UPlus-US has repeatedly sent me messages requesting that I remove my feedback in exchange for monetary compensation. The first time it was for the complete cost of the item, the second time it was for $30 ! which was more than double the cost of the item. While free money IS nice, I find this soliciting of feedback removal to be unethical & while I do not wish to harm any seller, I do find that feedback is the most helpful way to decide on a purchase. If I had known about this item's features, I would NOT have purchased it because the loud voice was a deal breaker for me. I would give this 5 stars because the ease of use, sound quality & size was exactly what I was looking for. But it became 2 stars because the voice function made it unusable & there was no mention of it in the description. I don't appreciate sellers pressuring buyers into removing thier feedback & I won't purchase items where I see there was feedback but it is currently unavailable because it was removed. Negative feedback is the most useful tool amazon provides in assisting the buyer in making a purchase.
