Curls fell out for me. Remington travel set is better. Comparison...
I hate to leave bad reviews, but I felt that I should since this set didn't really work for me, and I bought it based on the positive reviews I read. I bought this set to because the other travel set I have didn't have enough rollers. I planned to use them together. I found that the curls from this roller set quickly fell out and the curls made from my other set stayed in for hours. I love my other set, but thought I'd try this one to see if I liked it better. I ended up returning this Conair set. I'll compare the two:
The other set I have is the Remington H-1015 Ceramic Compact, Large and Medium Roller set, also sold on Amazon for a similar price.
-Quantity: Remington set has 10 rollers. Conair set has 12 rollers.
-Pins: They both use similar pins to secure the rollers.
-Surface: The Remington rollers a kind of velvety black smooth surface with some slight ridges. The Conair rollers are hard plastic, with a "starting strip." I thought the starting strip made it easier to wrap my hair around the roller without the shorter hair popping out, and they stayed more securely in my hair while it was setting, however, when removing the rollvers, they kind of got stuck in my hair and "combed" out the curl a bit, making the curl fuzzy. When removing the Remington rollers, the rollers fall right out and the curl is shiny and in one piece.
Handling: The Conair rollers were easier to handle and they didn't seem to get as hot to the touch. I think this probably detracts from their effectiveness. The Remington rollers are fine to handle on the ends, but sometimes a little too hot to hold in the middle.
Travel Pouch: They're both nice and compact. The Remington pouch is slightly smaller, only because it has fewer rollers. I preferred the Remington pouch. It was thicker and seemed more durable.
MOST IMPORTANTLY...
Results: The curls from the Conair set fell out within about an hour. The curls from my Remington set looked great all day. As soon as I took out the Conair rollers, I noticed the curls were not as springy as they were with the Remington set. I compared these sets under the exact same conditions, since I used them at the same time. They both heated for about 10 minutes before I used them, with the pouches closed. The rollers were left in for about 15 minutes.
I returned the Conair set and got another Remington set. I understand that everyone's hair behaves differently, so maybe this set will work for you. I just thought I'd share my experience.
