I bought this tripod because I wanted something that would be both lightweight and super compact for hikes. As it is difficult to find full-size tripods that collapse down to 12", I was pleasantly surprised when I found this one. Well, two months later and two of the legs of the tripod just spit out of the tubes because the stoppers are made of the cheapest, thinnest, pile-of-garbage plastic I have ever seen. Honestly with my regular use, I'm surprised those crappy little plastic stoppers lasted this long (refer to photos). It's too bad because it is now past the point of me being able to return this tripod. Very dissatisfied with the build quality, it's not like this is a 'cheap' tripod either.. BUYER BEWARE!
