For those thinking of buying this...
I'll start off by saying, I am a woodworker, and not some hobbyist who makes a couple coasters on a Saturday for your wife's birthday present. I make Ukuleles and furniture.
Now this saw...for a woodworker, this saw is not for you. For a hobbyist who makes Xmas ornaments,or maybe knife blanks once a month, I'd give the saw a look especially for it's cheap price.
The flaws completely outweigh any nice thing to say about this saw. Let's start with the table! Not flat at all. Has warps and bulges in it. The surface texture resembles something between and very fine sandpaper or pavement. You may think your table is square to the blade, but it really isn't. The miter gauge that comes with this saw is really a head scratcher. Like how does a company design then make it. Especially when it is completely useless garbage?! So much slip in the "t-slot". I really even wouldn't call that a t-slot. I'd call it a groove the company didn't know what to do with.
Right then and there while looking at the table and gauge, was when I knew the saw was being returned. But I had to try it out. At least to know what this saw is capable of for you people reading this review.
Onto the saw fence. Another terrible product that comes with this saw. You have to measure front and rear of the fence to set it up, so you know, can get a straight cut. Only thing is, the fence doesn't stay tight to the table, no matter how tight you make the bolts. It flexes and will not keep your cut straight.
Blade adjustment is easy! However the blade wonders way too much while cutting. By not having roller bearing guides to keep the blade straight, you'll have lots of fixing and cleanup of your newly cut piece.
Machine is quiet, but I'd still wear ear protection while cutting.
Dust collection is ok. It sucks about 70 percent of the dust through the port.
So there you have it. If you're looking for a woodworking bandsaw, save your money and get a reliable, well built one. Or maybe try Wen's larger saw. It may be better than this one. I don't know. I know this version is useless to the woodworker, much like every green machine out there.
