Sorry, but I did not purchase this from Amazon, but, after the problems, I'm glad I did not. Easier to return locally. Anyway... when I unpacked and assembled the fire pit, I was quite impressed with the quality for the price I paid. ($15 more than Amazon). Put a fresh bottle of propane in, lit it up and WOW!! I really loved it.... for about 2 hours. After two hours of burning the pilot/thermocouple cage was clogged up with carbon/soot so much, that the thermocouple did not get enough heat, so, it shut the gas off. I removed the rocks, cleaned everything, put it back together and fired it up again. Less than two hours later, same thing. So, I repeated the process, again. Same result. I contacted AZ Patio Heaters (the manufacturer) and was told they would send me out a new burner unit. Prompt and courteous service. Well I received the replacement burner unit, installed it and after 2 hours of running.... Yep, same sooty problem. Gas supplier is the same I use for my grill and two interior lp heaters. One ceramic and one open flame logs. All three have not problem. So I contacted AZ Patio Heaters again, three days ago. No response. So, no problem... I returned it to the local store I purchased it from and went to another store and purchased a different brand. Same gas... Different fire pit.... No problem. To bad, I really liked this little fire pit, but, I'm glad it show it's faults so I could talk about 10 folks out of getting this one, who were going to order it from Amazon. I've attached a picture of the last time it charred up, so you see what I am talking about. My advice is to purchase a different one.
