Was all excited about this purchase. A Sony blue ray player for under $40. Got the unit in 1 day too! Unit looked great out of the box, like brand new. Packaged very nicely. So I hooked up hdmi to the TV, and connected the power cord. Family was all sitting down ready to watch a movie, but when I went to put the disc in the tray it refused to open. Green power light was on. Machine was making mechanical sounds. Kept hitting the button on the remote, and on the player itself, and nothing. Tried it over and over again, even manually opened the drop down door where I could see the tray, but it still wouldn't open. How do you have a "Certified Refurbished" unit when you can't even put in a dvd to test it?! Sending back today. Not sure if I'll ever try a refurb again. Very disappointed.
