I have a TomTom 50-M with LifeTime USA Map updates that I purchased 4 1/2 years ago. I just received an email from TomTom stating the product is EOL (End of Life) and they are NO longer updating the maps for units over (5) five years old and you have to purchase a NEW Model with more memory to support their new software. The first Mumbai,India representative at TomTom blatantly lied to me and said I can go to the website and update the map. After I went to the website with the unit connected to the computer the second Mumbai,India representative wouldn't confirm the first representative lied to me, however, he said I would have to wait for an email announcing the free update due by the end of the month. He then sent me numerous emails and wouldn't confirm the update would be available by the end of the month January 2018 only stating future updates would be available. He just wanted to get rid of me. I won't purchase another product from a company that takes my money, offers LifeTime Map Updates and then renegs and says you have to buy a new model. I don't recommend you conduct business with the company either. Should the compative update not be made available for free by TomTom by the end of January 2018 the attorney general of my state takes these matters very seriously.
