I loved my Surface Pro 3 so I thought I'd upgrade. I've been in IT for...holy cow...35 years (since the wirewrapping days for you old geeks). I LOVED the Surface Pro 3. Long story short: I bought the Surface Pro 4 top end model, I7, Windows 10. I hoped the negative reviews were incorrect. I loved it for a couple of hours. Then the problems started. I spent about a week updating, configuring and generally messing with it to find that even with all the updates IT IS NOT READY FOR USE! Microsoft really screwed up on this one. I returned it and bought another Windows 8.1 Surface Pro 3 I7. It's been flawless. Fantastic device and incredibly more useful than my Ipad...with the exception the Ipad is a bit more compact.
