NOT a Cookbook
If you know how to cook, don't bother with this book. If you have NEVER cooked a thing ever in your life, or NEVER shopped at the grocery store, this book might be helpful. To adhere to the Whole30 diet, simply use meat, chicken, oil, and other ingredients that are compliant with "the rules" and use them in your own recipes. The book has very few recipes and is very poorly organized. The index does not mention chicken or specific items you might be hoping to cook. You have to flip through page by page to find a recipe - very time consuming and frustrating. They have done a very poor job of editing as well, referencing certain recipes on certain pages (throughout the book) and when you flip to that page, it does not have the recipe referenced. The "meal plan" is nothing more than a chart with suggestions. It is totally unhelpful as far as getting started on the Whole 30. I am not knocking the diet, just this slap dash, unorganized , mess of a book. It took me a half an hour to find the chicken recipe on the cover - then you have to memorize the page number or you will have to flip through the book again. The first half of the book doesn't even have any recipes, just a bunch of contradictory suggestions about what to eat and not to eat. I say contradictory because on one page it says not to eat something and ten pages later it says to add it into one of their recipes (????) Very confusing, don't waste your money.
