This thing is a hazard. It tried to burn my house down. I have only used this heater under light usage conditions - meaning only in one room, with the door closed and with the thermostat set at about 33%, somewhere around 70F. I've only ever used it over night a couple of times as it's electric and the expense is high in heating that way. We mostly use it to warm up the shower room. Again, at 33% thermostat reading and always with the door cracked a good ways open. We have to be very careful of mold in our house. So I noticed the cord starting to get stiff, which appears to me to be that of a cheap extension cord that is not rated for 1200W, not in the least! So after a short shower (I'm bald, so it goes fast!) I turn it off and go about my business. I go to unplug the device sometime later and the plug is melted into my socket! After much jimmying back and forth, I was able to get it out without damage. Thank goodness for strict electrical standards elsewhere!!! See the photos and decide for yourself...
