The AeroGarden itself is a great product! The seed pod kits, not so much.
Out of the nine pods, I have had three sprout. The rest of them are not viable.
If you have an AeroGarden, I would suggest getting some seed packets from your local garden center.
Ordering the sponges and re-using the cage inserts will allow you to cost effectively grow your own herbs and veggies.
I use tin foil to cover the top of the cage and poke a hole in the middle to allow the seed to sprout.
FAR more seeds to sprout and far better response to a problem.
UPDATE
I have stripped the cages of the non-viable seed sponges and have reused them with seeds purchased from Lowes.
ALL of the seeds sprouted, grew and have been transplanted into a largish tub where they are growing their little hearts out!
AeroGarden seed pods are not cost effective. Doing it yourself is cost effective and FAR more rewarding.
