It's quiet but that's about it. It provides very little air movement. I bought it because I needed a fan asap and target had these in stock. But as soon as I got home and plugged it in I knew it was going back. I ordered a lasko fan off Amazon right away. If you're just looking for a bit of white noise this is the machine for you. If you are looking for a fan that actually cools the room get the Lasko High velocity tower fan for $15 more. I provided a comparison video. We also have the lasko cyclone and it's awesome, also. But kids' fingers can get to it. Whereas the tower they can't.
